Exit from crises

Without really disappearing as soon as business picked up, the Barter (exchange) survived when money became scarcer under the successive pressures of the Second World War, the East-West conflict, decolonization... (in bankrupt Argentina, for example, at the end of the 20th century) but it became marginal before resurfacing with force in the 1970s and 80s with the consequences of the "oil shock" and its attendant recessions, excess production and skittish bankers.

 The Barter then became another way of making ends meet, no longer to defend its market share at all costs as in 1930, but according to the dynamic process of a new commercial diplomacy centered on bilateral agreements 

BARTER EXCHANGE?

A GREAT DEVELOPMENT TOOL! 

Behind this commonplace word lies an idea of society with unexpected ramifications, from simple prehistoric barter to a very serious alternative economy. This one would like to put money back to its place of means instead of the end in itself that it has become and that some thinkers make responsible for the repeated economic crises since a century.

This idea, Pierre Morelle, the creator of the network, made it concrete with the cooperative of associated professionals of the SCRL BarterNext who exchange goods and/or services since 2001.

Bilateral exchange?

The LIMITS of this system and its DISADVANTAGES quickly appear! 

• Mutual need: this implies that each wants the other's product or service.
• Simultaneity The desire for exchange must take place at the same time.
• Fair exchange The value of the product or service must be of equal or equivalent value, because in an informal exchange, how can one accept and negotiate a debt from one to the other?
• Rehearsal This ideal equation must be repeated frequently for the system to endure.
• In duo : for a third person to participate in the exchange, the conditions for success become frankly utopian.

Should I write the word END?
This would be to underestimate the inventiveness of homo sapiens! Because, if we look at the problem more closely, the benefits of exchange are really too interesting to be abandoned. 

Multilateral exchange

• The mutual need is no longer necessary 
• no more simultaneity since sales/purchases can be made at different times;
• the value of the exchange may be different also, the B€ ensure the acquired share;
• repetition is no longer a problem, on the contrary, it gets out of hand;

Cornerstone of the system, an exchange unit called barter-euro serves as an intermediary between members of a cooperative of associated professionals (network) to sell or buy products or services, not directly but against barters.

Within the BarterNext network, member A can buy a product sold by member B and pay it in B€ (Barter-Euro), the exchange unit of B&T/. Thus, member B is not obliged to buy a product from A but, with the B€ he has received, he will be able to pay for the services of member C and so on...

Until they are used, the B€ remain on deposit in an internal account at the exchange center. This account can, under certain conditions, be equipped with an overdraft facility 

THE VERY ATTRACTIVE BENEFITS OF THE EXCHANGE 

They are numerous and worth studying carefully. Of course, they differ according to the profession, but everyone will find something to suit them! 

• The most obvious: By exchanging, you have saved the amount of the investment you would have had to make by buying the same product or service without any guarantee of return on investment. Your cash flow is better off and you can even logically consider that the exchange represents an interesting "return on investment". It's a bit specious, but... it's comforting!
• Most amazing: In the exchange, there is the product or service that you "buy" by the product or service that you "sell". Rich from a "purchase" without having spent a single euro, you have just made an additional "sale" that you would not have made in traditional purchase! This shows that trading is better than buying!
• Most reassuring: In times of economic recession, when money is tight (and the bank is stingy), the exchange not only saves your cash flow, it gives you the assurance that instead of stopping your business, you can count on sales that you would not have been able to make because of the financial difficulties of the buyers and, in addition, make additional sales that you did not expect.
• Most rewarding: In the exchange, you are led to be as interested in your interlocutor as in his product. This requires a degree of mutual trust that a successful transaction will transform into a unique bond that no competitor can take away from you. This is how you build customer loyalty.
• Best Paying: Happy with your exchanges, customers will recommend you to their friends and acquaintances who will do business with you, but this time in euros!
